The production challenge
The weeks before calving decide how well a cow meets the sudden calcium demand of lactation. Because the risk window opens at calving, the strategy has to be in place beforehand — it cannot be assembled in response to a cow that is already down.
Where X-Zelit fits in a transition program
X-Zelit is fed through the dry-cow period, alongside the rest of the ration, within a transition program planned with your nutritionist or veterinarian. It is not an emergency treatment: a cow showing signs of milk fever needs prompt veterinary attention.
