How we select products

A product earns its place in the portfolio.

We represent a deliberately small group of products. Before we put one in front of an Australian producer or reseller, it has to have a clear role, credible manufacturer support, and a practical pathway for Australian supply.
The selection standard

Seven things a product has to satisfy.

01

A clearly defined production role

The product has to address a recognisable need in animal housing, feed quality, transition management, hydration, welfare or another production area we support. If we cannot explain what it is for without inflating the claim, we do not take it on.
02

An established specialist manufacturer

We look at the experience, quality systems, documentation, product stewardship and technical capability of the business behind the product.
03

Evidence appropriate to the claim

Manufacturer trials, independent studies, field experience and Australian documentation each carry different weight, and we keep them distinct. What we say about a product is set by the evidence we can point to.
04

Relevance to Australian systems

A product needs a practical role under Australian production, climate, housing, feeding or retail conditions. Popularity overseas is not enough on its own.
05

Australian compliance and documentation

We check claims, directions, safety information and product category against current Australian requirements and documents before we say anything publicly.
06

Dependable supply and support

We have to be able to supply the product reliably in Australia, and to get customers the product information and support they need.
07

A portfolio role that is not redundant

The product should add a distinct capability, rather than duplicate something we already carry without a clear advantage.
Evidence hierarchy

Not every source carries the same weight.

Not every product calls for every kind of evidence. But when a claim matters, its source matters, and we tell you which one it comes from. A manufacturer claim stays a manufacturer claim; the Australian documentation is what governs use here.
01
Australian approved label, registration or legally governing documentation
02
Current Australian Safety Data Sheets and official product documents
03
Peer-reviewed independent evidence relevant to the product and the claim
04
Manufacturer technical trials and product documents
05
Australian case studies and field observations
06
Overseas field experience and testimonials
What this means for customers

Fewer products, clearer roles.

Fewer products, each with a role you can explain across the counter.
Straightforward access to the official product information.
A named manufacturer and an open account of the relationship.
Language that matches the evidence behind it.
An Australian contact for supply and product enquiries.
Clear information, backed by the right source
We assess product information against the evidence, the manufacturer support and the Australian documentation available. For directions, rates, approved uses and safety information, we provide the current documents that apply to the product we supply here.

The portfolio is small on purpose. Every product on it has a role we can explain, a manufacturer behind it, and Australian supply.
